Did you know that in 2022, the West Jordan Police Department investigated nearly 700 fraud cases? From Identify theft to wire fraud, anyone call fall a victim. An easy way to keep some of your most private information private is disposing of old documents and digital content the right way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The City of West Jordan is offering four FREE E-Waste and Shredding events this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>February 4, 2023 | 10 AM &#8211; 12 PM<\/li><li>May 6, 2023 | 10 AM &#8211; 12 PM<\/li><li>August 5, 2023 | 10 AM \u2013 12 PM<\/li><li>November 4, 2023 | 10 AM \u2013 12 PM<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents can bring up to two \u2018Bankers Boxes\u2019 of paper for shredding and residential waste. Documents will be shredded onsite in the parking lot of the West Jordan Public Works Department (7960 S 4000 W).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your items need to be drop-off ready. Paper needs to be loose, binders, large binder clips, and rubber bands need to be removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember to bring proof of residency or city employment to participate (driver\u2019s license, utility bill, or city ID badge).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some acceptable items include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Cell phones<\/li><li>Computers and keyboards<\/li><li>Hard drives (these can be shredded if they have been removed from the computer)<\/li><li>Stereos<\/li><li>Fax machines<\/li><li>iPods<\/li><li>MP3 players<\/li><li>DVD players<\/li><li>Laptops<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Television, CRT monitors, cracked LCDs, batteries, lightbulbs, and printers are not accepted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday, January 28th is Data Privacy Day \u2013 a day that creates awareness about the importance of respecting privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust.
