City Council Member Vacancy

Notice is hereby given of a vacancy on the City Council of the City of West Jordan due to the resignation of City Council Member Melissa Worthen (Council District 2) effective October 31, 2023, at 5:00 PM.

The public is hereby notified of the City Council’s intent to fill that vacancy. Qualified registered voters of the City of West Jordan, who currently reside in Council District 2, may submit their name and Application for consideration during regular business hours between the dates and hours of 8:00 AM, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, and 5:00 PM, Friday, November 17, 2023. Applicants must be current residents of Council District 2, must meet all other applicable qualifications, and must file, in-person, the following documents, collectively referred to as an “Application”, with the West Jordan City Recorder’s Office, at 8523 South Redwood Road, 1st Floor, West Jordan, Utah 84088 (Temporary City Hall):

(1) a Midterm City Council Vacancy Application (provided by the City Recorder’s Office),

(2) a resume, and

(3) a brief statement or letter of interest.

The City Council will meet to consider the Applications, interview each qualified applicant, and fill the vacancy on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, starting at approximately 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas M. Rees Justice Center 8040 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84088.
