Division Highlight – Snow Plows

West Jordan is ready to tackle the snow this winter, ensuring safe streets for residents and emergency services. Here are the highlights of the city’s snow removal efforts:

  • Hundreds of Lane Miles: Every snowstorm means clearing a few hundred lane miles across the city, a crucial task to maintain safety.
  • Neighborhood Plow Crews: New this year, crews dedicated to neighborhood streets will work alongside mainline plows for faster, more efficient snow removal.
  • Coordinated Response: Mainline and neighborhood crews are dispatched simultaneously, ensuring quicker coverage citywide.
  • Shift Rotations: Snow removal teams work in 12-hour shifts, maintaining a continuous operation to clear all streets.
  • Snowplow Tracking Software: A new tracking system helps crews monitor progress, ensuring no street is missed.
  • Salt Brine Application: Pre-treating main roads with a salt brine solution prevents ice and improves plowing efficiency.

How You Can Help:

  • Keep vehicles off the streets during snowstorms so plows can operate safely and effectively.
  • Wait 24 hours after a storm ends before reporting missed streets to allow crews to finish their routes.

With your cooperation, West Jordan is committed to keeping our roads safe and accessible this winter!
