West Jordan Makes Christmas Tree Disposal Easy: Drop-Off or Curbside Options Available

A discarded Christmas tree lies on a grassy curbside in a suburban neighborhood, with bare trees and houses in the background. Another tree is visible further down the street, indicating post-holiday cleanup.

The City of West Jordan is offering residents a hassle-free way of disposing their real Christmas trees. From December 27th to January 31st, residents have the option to choose between curbside pickup or drop-off locations for their trees. Only natural, undecorated trees will be accepted, the trees must be free of ornaments, lights, tinsel, or flocking.

Christmas Tree Drop Locations:

For the convenience of those who prefer a DIY approach, three designated drop-off locations are available:

  1. Parking lot at the County Pool/Gene Fullmer Rec Center: 8125 S. 2200 W.
  2. Parking lot of Constitution Park: Southeast corner of 3285 W. 7000 S.
  3. South parking lot at the West Jordan Soccer Complex: West side of 4000 W. ~ 8070 S.

These drop-off locations will have 30-yard dumpsters, and Ace will manage the disposal.

Curbside Pickup Details:

For those who opt for curbside pickup, there are two distinct periods to keep in mind:

  1. Rear-load Truck Curbside Pickup: (Driver throws the tree into the truck) January 6 to January 17
    • Trees over 10 feet tall must be cut in half to be picked up.
    • Smaller trees can remain whole for this pickup method.
  2. Normal Trash Truck Pickup: January 20 to January 31
    • All trees must be cut in half to fit in the bin, unless the tree is small enough to fit entirely inside your garbage can.

It’s important to mention that Ace will not pick up any tree over 10 feet tall unless it is cut in half to facilitate throwing it into the trash can.

If your garbage can or tree was missed during curbside pickup, report it online.
