Furry Friends and Festive Cheer: Your donations keep tails wagging

Dear Awesome Humans,

Guess what? A record-breaking 2,000 of us furry (and not-so-furry) friends found our way to the West Jordan Animal Shelter this year! That includes nearly 400 kittens — another record!

Every year the shelter hosts a Holiday for the Animals donation drive. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been living the good life with full bellies, cozy beds, and all the toys we can dream of.

We’re cared for by the West Jordan Police Department, who provide us with our basic needs. But, your generous donations are the cherry on top of our kibble. Your gifts make our time here more comfortable and fun as we wait for a forever home.

We’re not sure why 2024 was a record breaking year, but we’re guessing it’s the beginning of many more paws and claws walking through these doors. We’d love for every future guest to enjoy the same comfort we’ve had — with all the food and toys their hearts can handle.

Here is a list of the things every animal needs when they come to stay:

Cats

  • Adult cat food, wet or dry
  • Kitten food, wet or dry
  • Treats
  • Tunnels, tents or beds
  • Toys, feather teasers, fluffy mice, crinkle balls
  • Cat scratching post
  • Litter

Dogs

  • Adult dog food, wet or dry
  • Puppy food, wet or dry
  • Treats
  • Dog beds or blankets
  • Toys and bones
  • Tough chew toys
  • Leashes and collars

Or, you can send things right to our kennel doors with this Amazon Wish-list

With tails wagging and purrs galore,
The Dogs, Cats, Reptiles, Rabbits, Birds (and more!) at the West Jordan Animal Shelter

P.S. You don’t have to donate during the holidays. We’ll take donations any time of year!
