Utility Hardship Program – Give the Gift of Utility Bill Relief
This holiday season, let’s come together to support our neighbors in need! West Jordan’s Utility Hardship Program empowers residents to help one another by providing essential assistance for utility bills.
- 100% Community-Funded: No grants or taxes feed this program. It runs purely on the kindness of residents.
- Neighbors helping Neighbors: Your donations stay right here in our city, making a real difference for local families.
- Feel the Joy of Giving: There’s nothing quite as rewarding as knowing you’ve made a difference for a neighbor in need.
- 100% of your donation goes to the fund: The city doesn’t keep a penny for itself! Your donation directly assists West Jordan residents.
Three ways to donate:
If you pay your bill in person at City Hall:
- Talk to the clerk about adding a donation to your payment.
If you pay each month online, you can add money to the fund at the same time you pay your own bill:
- After you enter your account information, there is an option to donate to the Utility Hardship Program. It looks like this:
- Continue to pay your bill as normal. This donation will be one-time only. If you wish to contribute again in the future, you will need to make another donation.
If you are enrolled in auto-pay for your West Jordan Utility Bill, or you are a non-resident and would like to contribute:
- Go to: Complete Form | City of West Jordan, UT. This form says “Permits and Other Invoices”.
- In the Permit Application or Case Number box, type “Utility Hardship Fund”.
- Enter your name, phone number and email address allows West Jordan City to contact you if they have questions about where you’d like the money to go.
- Add the amount you’d like to donate to the fund. Every cent will go towards helping your neighbors West Jordan utility bill.
- Click “Confirm Your Information” and you will be prompted to enter credit card information. This is a secure site and your information will not be kept or used for anything else.
- Many other bills are paid with this process. You will be prompted to donate to the Utility Hardship Fund. Your contribution is already going to the Hardship Fund so you can leave this blank.
Need help paying your bill?
If you think there is a time coming when you might not be able to cover your bill, let us know as soon as possible BEFORE you lose your water supply.

Qualifying for Assistance:
- Utility Hardship Funds are only available to West Jordan City residents.
- The household must have gross income under 150% of the federal poverty guidelines, have suffered a life-changing event, or have experienced a significant reduction in income.
Utility Hardship Program Rules:
- Assistance is limited to $300.
- Participants are limited to assistance once per year.
