Mayor’s Message – September 2024
Hello, West Jordan! September is the perfect month to “Get to the River!”
This month, the Jordan River Commission, along with several cities—including our very own West Jordan—will be making waves with the Get to the River event series. These events are designed to reel you in and get you hooked on all the beauty and fun the Jordan River has to offer.
The Jordan River is the eastern boundary of our city, providing a sanctuary for wildlife, a peaceful path for walkers, and a scenic route for bikers (like me!) It’s a hidden gem nestled in the middle of our bustling Valley.
We’re proud to share that a portion of the trail in our city has been awarded the America the Beautiful Grant, helping us rejuvenate and restore 70 acres of land surrounding the river. That’s something worth crowing about! (Or maybe tweeting, if you’re a fan of our feathered friends.)
Whether you’re into birdwatching, jogging, or capturing the perfect photo, the Jordan River trail has something for everyone. So, grab your walking shoes, pack your binoculars, and don’t forget your camera—we can’t wait to see you out there!

See you by the river!
