Mayor’s Message – March 2025

Happy March, West Jordan! They say this month comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, but our dry winter feels more like a tumbleweed rolling into spring! I’ve appreciated that snow came to the mountains as I’ve skied the slopes and will drink the water this summer.

As the seasons shift, here’s what’s sprouting up around the city:

Seasonal Can—Our formerly green waste can has a fresh new name! It has the same service, schedule, and ability to toss in yard waste or regular trash—it just has a label that makes more sense. Read more here.​

Parks Reopen – While our parks are open year round, our crews will officially turn on drinking fountains and open restrooms next month—because no one wants a frozen surprise in winter!

Events Galore—Our annual activity guide, packed with fun for the whole family, hits mailboxes in May. Spring is when things really bloom, so stay tuned!

Cone Season – Warmer weather means construction season is revving up! You’ll see cones popping up like daffodils as the city (and groups like UDOT and Enbridge Gas) work on improvements. Check out what’s in progress on our construction page.​
