Mayor’s Message – July 2024

Dear Residents,

PHEW! We have officially wrapped up our 69th Annual Western Stampede Celebration! But the fun isn’t over yet. Another big holiday is just around the corner – Pioneer Day! Did you know West Jordan holds a very special place in the history of Pioneer Day, being one of the first places where pioneers made their home?

As we commemorate the pioneers who settled in our city, let’s also celebrate the modern-day pioneers among us! Teachers, first responders, health care workers, local business owners, and every resident who contributes to our community. Your efforts are what keeps West Jordan a place full of growth and opportunity.

This Pioneer Day, I encourage each of you to find a way to honor our pioneer heritage. Whether it’s visiting a local historical site, sharing stories of our city’s rich past with your family, or participating in community service, let’s come together to reflect on our history and strengthen our bonds as a community.

Thank you to those who have helped shape West Jordan into who we are today! It takes years of planning and a lot of dedicated residents who care about each other that help make West Jordan the BEST city! Good quality of life doesn’t happen just by the elected officials, it happens by everyone who contributes to our community. Yesterday and today. Each one of us are making a difference.

Thank you,

Mayor Dirk Burton
