Mayor’s Message – December 2024

As we celebrate the “most wonderful time of the year,” I want to take a moment to reflect on why West Jordan is such a great place to call home: our people. The holiday season is the perfect time to strengthen our sense of community by being good neighbors, lending a helping hand, and showing kindness to one another. Whether it’s helping our crossing guards out by shoveling school crossings, donating to a local food bank, or volunteering your time, these acts of generosity make a big difference!

Please note a few important updates as we head into the holiday season:

  • Holiday Garbage Collection Delays: Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day during both the week of Christmas (December 25) and the week of New Year’s (January 1). Please plan accordingly and place your bins out on the adjusted day.
  • City Hall Holiday Closures: City Hall and other city facilities will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 25, as well as New Year’s Day on January 1.
  • Upcoming Events & Updates: As you look ahead to the new year, stay connected with us through our website and social media for updates on city services and events.

On behalf of the City of West Jordan, I wish you a joyous holiday season filled with peace, happiness, and cherished memories. Let’s carry the spirit of giving and kindness into the new year as we work together to make 2025 even better.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
