This month the West Jordan City Council honors all of our Veterans. West Jordan City is proud of the heritage and service from our Veterans, whether they are current or former residents. West Jordan is the proud home of thousands of Veterans. We are the home to Utah National Aviation Units who train on the remnants of Camp Kearns and the Kearns Army Airfield.  90,000 soldiers/airmen completed basic training here. Thousands more trained for air combat, intelligence, cryptography, radio, ordnance, and other missions.

We honor all of our Veterans who unselfishly left the comfort of our community and answered the call to country to help preserve our values, the Constitution, and our way of life. The sacrifices of these men and women are innumerable. Our Veterans serve across the globe but they are interwoven in West Jordan history and have helped build our community.

Council Member Kelvin Green, a veteran, said, “I am extremely proud the City of West Jordan is taking time to honor Veterans. My family are three generations of West Jordan Veterans. I know we were all proud to serve but it’s better knowing that the citizens of our community support our efforts.”

“We have many veterans who call West Jordan home and we honor you for your valiant service to God and country.  I desire that many of them will join the City Council in celebrating and honoring you.”, stated Council Member Kayleen Whitelock.
