Project Overview:

The City of West Jordan will be milling and overlaying 6200 South from 5600 W to Red Fox circle. This work will improve drainage, replace aging asphalt, and ensure a smoother road surface. Please keep in mind that no street parking will be allowed on the road during the milling and paving process. Please make arrangements to park in other locations. Garbage collection and mail delivery will not be affected.

Timeline of Project:

Construction is scheduled from July 25 through October 31, 2024.

Project Steps:

  1. Excavation
    • The contractor will dig down to the dirt along the southern lane. They’ll put down new dirt and asphalt to make the pavement stronger in that lane.
  2. Replacing the Curb, Gutter, and Sidewalk
    • Crews will take out the old curb, gutter, and sidewalk and put in new ones.
  3. Adjusting Utility Covers
    • Crews will lower the covers of utilities, like manholes, to make sure they’re at the right level.
  4. Removing the Old Road Surface
    • Crews will scrape off the top layer of the old asphalt road.
  5. Paving with New Asphalt
    • Crews will lay down and smooth out new asphalt to create a fresh road surface.
